“Fancy Nancy” French Toast

Have you noticed that I’m becoming a little obsessed with breakfast lately?  I mean, I get up and cook a FULL breakfast for my family almost every morning.  But let’s be honest… I make family-style breakfast.  Scrambled eggs in bowls, French Toast piled high on a plate, Bacon stacked in the middle of the table.

But the other day, for Sabrina’s 5th birthday, I made her “Fancy Nancy” french toast.

It's so easy to make simple french toast feel special

What makes this french toast so “Fancy Nancy”?

Let me tell you the secret … it’s all in the presentation.

Yup.  This is the same french toast I make almost every day.  The same cut up fruit.  But instead of a large plate of slices of pan-fried bread and a bowl of fruit, I took 30 extra seconds to spiral those triangles and sprinkle fruit on top.

Nothing for me.

REVOLUTIONARY to my 5-year old.

She thought she was the most special kid in the world that day.  {Which, along with her sister, she is.}

It was a great reminder of how little presentation tricks make all the difference in the world when it comes to the food that we eat.

Happy Birthday Sabrina!!
