My name is Jessica and I work for the National Honey Board (NHB). We are so excited to be a guest on Deena’s blog today! When she first contacted us to be a part of her blog community, we jumped at the chance.

The NHB is a research and promotion board that conducts research, marketing and promotion programs designed to increase the awareness and use of honey.  We know it’s extremely important to get the kids involved in the kitchen and we hope to do just that with the help of honey and the many recipes we have created to inspire both parents and kids.

Kids love honey and most parents are happy to use it in the kitchen, they just need a few more kid friendly ideas. This is where we come in! Honey is a versatile ingredient and it lends great flavor to many recipes.

The trick to getting your kids involved in the kitchen is to make the food fun and delicious. All-natural honey not only tastes great, but it’s also an ingredient that parents can feel good about feeding their kids.  We also know that when kids are able to choose what they are eating, parents can steer them toward nutritious choices and these decisions will hopefully follow them throughout their lives.

Whether you are looking for an easy lunch box idea, like the Honey Turkey Rollers or a quick after school snack, like the Honey Banana Roll-ups, we have quite a few great recipes for kids. We also have recipes that are great for younger kids too, like our Peanut Butter Honey Play Dough, which is just as much fun to play with as it is to eat.

One of our favorite recipes is the Fruity Frozen Yogurt Pops. These are easy to make and a great recipe for the kids to help with.
