Homemade Granola Recipe

This summer (aside for the past few days when I’ve been laid up recovering from a nasty flu), I’ve been on a “homemade” kick.

I’ve been making homemade yogurt.  {i’m still working on perfecting this recipe}

Homemade Challah.

Homemade Rustic Bread.

Homemade Cheese & Crackers.

Homemade Ice Cream.

And Homemade Granola.

The thing about homemade granola, is that once you get the ratios and technique down, you can customize the ingredients to your liking.  It’s actually a great project to do with kids because they can mix & match nuts, grains and seeds to their individual taste.

I’ve been making small batches of granola since my husband likes his less “heavy” and my mom likes hers “sweeter” and the kids don’t like the seeds.  Well … you get the point.

And even though the customization has been a bit of a pain, the results are always delish!

Try it.

It’s a great breakfast or snack.  And perfect for those I-need-a-quick-boost-of-energy times.

And as long as you have about 6 cups of stuff to 3/4 cups of liquid you should be good.

Personally, I like mine with cranberries, almonds and pepitas.   Sabrina likes hers with chocolate chips (shocker).   How do you like yours?
